We are a strong and active community, a place you may wish to look into if you are considering rural life, a slower pace, reduced living costs, and a place to really participate in community life.

We are the “last chance stop” on the west side of Saskatchewan’s Great Lake, Lake Diefenbaker. Coldwell Recreation Park is along the south end of the South Saskatchewan River less than 10 minutes from Macrorie. This park is a great place to spend a quiet afternoon, or a weekend of great camping. You’ll never want to return home after you have spent some quiet time at Coldwell. Danielson Provincial Park is approximately 15 minutes east of Macrorie. This a great place to take the family for the summer. Excellent fishing, sandy beaches, shady trees, and a marina for your boat makes it a great “home away from home”. 30 minutes down the road from Danielson you will come upon Douglas Provincial Park. This natural environment park is a prairie oasis featuring access to kilometres of natural sand beaches, massive inland sand dunes, native prairie, and secluded campsites hidden in a lush aspen forest.

Located 10 minutes South of Macrorie, you will find Gardiner Dam, Canada’s Largest earth-filled dam. Summer tours are available at the dam, along with an Interpretive Centre, Gift Shop, the Top of the Dam Café, the Coteau Creek Power Station, sandy beaches, and wonderful scenery.

We have lots of space, a low cost of living and we are situated just 110km south of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan’s largest city.
