Service dogs can be a lifesaver to people living with disabilities, like Jewel the German Shepherd is to Olympian Jacqueline Rennebohm. But before they can help a human, the dogs must be trained, and sometimes the training just doesn’t work out.
That was the case with Ricochet, a dog that was born and raised as part of a puppy training program. Unfortunately (or maybe fortunately, as you will see), Ricochet lost interest in her training early on. In some cases, at this point she would have been sent to a shelter, but Puppy Prodigies Neo-natal and Early Learning Program gave her a chance to do something truly different.
This video shows Ricochet’s early training, and her adventure to becoming the world’s only SURFice dog, raising almost $400,000 for special causes.
